This is a piece of memorabilia I have created. This item has 5 pieces of timber in the display. It initially started by giving them as gifts for family and friends.

Everyone who has received one of these has absolutely loved it, so I decided to create some more for many people to enjoy. Each frame has its own unique number of an edition of 50. The frame is 16 x 16" (405 x 405mm) and the display area is 12" x 12 (305 x 305mm) with a metal plaque describing what the item is.. 4 pieces of the actual original Tudor Cottage barge board is included.. The barge board was a decorative piece below the roof eaves, sometimes referred to as'icing sugar.

Metal plaque measures 85 x 55mm and reads. These are pieces of barge board from the Tudor cottage owned by John Lennon. The Tudor cottage was situated next to the lake at Tittenhurst Park, Ascot, where the Imagine album was recorded. The Tudor Cottage was also featured in the film'Gimme Some Truth' - The making of John Lennon's Imagine. Tittenhurst park was also used as the backdrop for the final Beatles photoshoot on the 22nd August 1969.

There is also a number of 50 and a scan of a John Lennon signature, which belongs to a friend of mine, who let me scan it. We were the interior joinery and furnishing contractors for the complete project duration from 1988 until finish, starting in the main house and then working in various other buildings around the estate. In the early 90's we were asked to quote on the rebuilding of the Tudor Cottage as the original was in a very poor state of repair and in a dangerous condition. The original Tudor Cottage was built in 1535, the date carved above the fireplace. The cottage was featured in the film'Imagine' and Gimme some truth - The making of Imagine.

The cottage was situated next to the lake, which featured in both films. John has the lake built in the mid 1960's without planning permission. We won the contract for the re-building of an exact replica and work started in the early 1990's to demolish and prepare the site for the replica cottage to be re-built.

On demolition myself and my father decided to save some pieces and took them back to our factory for storage.. We did this as when the recording studio was demolished, everything in it, on the orders of the project manager, were thrown into the swimming pool and burned. The pieces we saved were forgotten about for years until I came across them one day recently. During the initial stages of the project we also removed the front door and stripped it, ready for refurbishment and replacement back onto the main house.

The main house ended up with a brand new door and we were given the original door. This is the one which featured in the'Imagine' music videos and films.

Durning the early 1990's we offered the door on loan to the Beatles Museum in Liverpool, who were not interested.. Pic 1 - Sticker on the back of frame, explaining what the item is. Pic 2 - Image of plaque on display. Pic 3 - Actual piece of barge board, which display is created from a piece of.

Pic 9 - Recording Studio - Main house - During demolition - late 1980's. Pic 12 - Photo of Majilis - This was made famous during the last photo shoot of the Beatles.

This was also on the front cover of the'Hey Jude' album. Pic 13 - Lake being built - Taken in 1960's. From the private collection of Les Anthony.
