Onobox Box by Yoko Ono CD 1992, 6 Discs Ryko Beatles John Lennon Harrison Sean

Yoko Ono is a Japanese artist, musician, and peace activist who has been a prominent figure in the avant-garde art world for almost 60 years. Born in Tokyo in 1933, Ono is a pioneer in performance art and a major figure in conceptual art.

Her work includes experimental films, music albums, interactive installations, poetry, sculpture, and public art. Yoko Ono - Onobox Onobox is a 1992 comprehensive 6-disc collection of Yoko Ono's work from 1968 to 1985. The discs are grouped by era and theme. Disc one centers around the albums Fly and Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, while Disc two features nearly the entirety of Approximately Infinite Universe in a different running order and most of the tracks remixed exclusively for this boxed set. Disc three features the entire Feeling the Space project, which was originally conceived and recorded as a double album before being edited down, while disc six is the previously unreleased 1974 album A Story, which was later reissued separately with an expanded track listing, along with the rest of Ono's back catalogue.

Discs four and five center on her relationship with her late husband and musician John Lennon, with "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss" highlighting songs from their duet albums Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey, while "No, No, No" focuses on the albums Yoko released in the aftermath of the murder of John Lennon. ONOBOX is quite an amazing musical journey for those who are ready to check out Yoko Ono's albums from the 1970's into the 80's.

As a long time listener to Missus L's work, fans will notice the enhanced sound quality compared to many of the individual lp releases. There are six discs with over 100 songs that reveal a daringly imaginative and colorful artist. The set includes 6 cds and 50 page book which gives background and personal notes, photos, etc. Because of Yoko's blunt realism, some people may hesitate jumping into songs with such honest feelings and ideas. This box set is very much a personal diary presented in music form and a recommended journey for some.
