MINT! Museum! John Lennon Personally Gifted Apple Boutique Red Smoking Jacket

This Red Brocade Damask Rose Pattern Silk Lined MINT Never Worn Smoking jacket was Personally Gifted by John Lennon to the owner of the tobacco/sweet shop next door on the night before the store closed with the free public giveaway on July 30th 1968! I paid a pretty penny for this and it has been the star of my very laborious Apple Boutique item hunt for the past 20 years. I have been able to find nearly two dozen items with thousands of hours of searching over the years but this is something else. It still has the sweet spicy smell of the tobacco shop on it (not smoke) but was kept sealed by the owner who was the father in law of the signer on the letter of provenance (shown in pics).

I could not believe its condition when I received it. I have only one other MINT Deadstock Apple Boutique clothing item that I will list shortly but it has a different story and this item was handmade by The Fool with all labels intact as if made yesterday! Nearly impossible to find an item like this in this condition. If you google "Apple Boutique Clothing" you will find images of the identical jacket made in green (same rose damask pattern and cut) but no where near the condition of this jacket nor any provenance connecting John Lennon himself personally to it such as this! Offers considered from serious people no low balls as I had to pay more than I typically have to obtain this gorgeous artifact!
