WHILE THERE, I PICKED UP A COUPLE OF LEAVES FROM INSIDE THE GROUNDS. ONE LEAF HAS BEEN CUT TO MAKE THIS DISPLAY.
Unique 3 1/2inch x 5 3/4 inch by 1 inch thick, clear, lucite holder with graphics of Aunt Mimi's Mendips house. On the display is a segment of a Mendips yard leaf, and an actual swatch, of grey liner, from a pair of black trousers/pants worn by John in 1967. Originally acquired in the early 80's directly from Gordon Millings whose father was the owner of Millings & Son tailor shop. This was the famous tailor shop used by the Beatles, many movie stars, and other important music figures. The trousers have the original Millings and Son bevo label and the additional label with hand-written notes with a John Lennon July 1967.
After careful inspection and consideration it was determined that a small fragment of material (left by the tailor) could be removed without compromising the integrity of the trousers. The material was removed from the waist area. The removal was done by a professional seamstress.I have several of these and each swatch of material is a little different, but all will be of equal size. The display also contains 3 actual film frames. Two show a young John and John with his aunt Mimi. The other shows John's eye from the music video for Strawberry Fields Forever.
