Beatles Butcher Cover Stunning 3rd State Pro Peeled Mono La #6 Yesterday & Today

Beatles 3rd State Gorgeous Peeled LA #6 Butcher Cover. If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display that includes the removed trunk slick, this might be for you. Because these jackets are much harder to peel, these rarely come up for sale with the removed trunk slick due to how easy it is to damage the Butcher Slick by trying to remove the trunk slick on these particular jackets.

These correctly peeled #6 jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition. While there are a few condition issues with the spine and staining/aging mostly confined to the back, make no mistake about it, this peel is sensational as has a first state look to it. Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed by amateur peel attempts. TheButcherCover, on the other hand to these notable amateur efforts, have consistently and correctly peeled the most difficult examples from every Capitol manufacturing plant (#2, #3, #5, #6) for over 4 decades.

These examples have been exhibited in books, youtube and many other notable outlets for decades. Their jackets are are not produced by a Johnny Come Lately' with a tea kettle.

While there is some commonly seen minor condition issues on this jacket (mostly confined to the spine of this jacket), this would still look great in a frame. Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition. Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. These cannot be "steamed" off.

For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Perhaps not for the super picky collector that wants a Butcher Cover that appears as if it just popped out of a time capsule and looks like it just came out of the store in 1966, but more for that special someone who wants a rarer and harder to peel LA Butcher Cover that would look sensational in a frame with the removed trunk slick.

Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare. While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue etc, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there that still presents nicely that won't make you completely empty your bank account.

Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description. Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely overall without any evidence of large scars or serious damage from the peeling process that is usually seen.

Beautiful colors and presentation on this one and many feel that the LA Jackets in general have a richer look color wise. Make no mistake about it, these are very hard to peel properly but this example is a very nice peel for this price range. Please see photos to verify specific condition and feel free to contact with questions.

Top and bottom seams appear to be mostly complete with the exception of a 2" edge crack at the end of the bottom seam and a slightly smaller one (1 1/2") at the very end of the top seam. Both seams appears to be secure to prevent spreading of the issue. To protect the integrity what remains of the seams, a record should never be attempted to be placed into this jacket. Spine appears to have cracked throughout but appears to have been neatly secured. While some print is present at the bottom of the spine, the title at the top of the spine is no longer legible as much of the spine paper has flaked off. The price has accordingly been reduced by hundreds due to the less than great spine condition. Still, it's pretty much a non issue if one were to frame this jacket. The back of the jacket displays some mild to moderate wear/tanning and staining. (see photo of back of jacket). Removed trunk slick is included with some wrinkling, wear tear and repair. (See photo of removed trunk slick).

Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in G condition by Goldmine standards. Tons of light sleeve scuffs and scratches but plays through on a Numark PT-01 without skips but there is some noticeable background tics and crackling that indicates that somebody enjoyed this throughly throughout its lifetime (most likely back in 1966). Record was probably played dozens of times on a cheaper 60's player possible with a needle past its prime. Some songs slightly noisier than others indicating that the original owner(s) liked some songs more than others. Not completely trashed but not that great.

This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process.

Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts. T-Shirt Seen in Background on first few photos is NOT INCLUDED.
