Beatles 3rd State Peeled LA Mono Butcher Cover w/Record and Inner Sleeve. This Butcher Cover is a first time offering.
Finding a peeled West Coast Butcher Cover that doesn't look like it's ready for the trash can is not an easy task. Most LA trunk covers were adhered during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive.
Even the supposed decently peeled ones have obvious tell tale circular rings that run up the side of the jacket. The Butcher Cover peelers are one of the only ones who can peel them successfully with a minimal visibility to these rings. This is from experience of peeling hundreds upon hundreds of these covers for a variety of clients for over 40 years. See their informational video (thebutchercover) about properly peeling #6 Butcher Covers on Youtube. These Los Angeles covers with the notorious factory super glue have been destroyed by the thousands and continue to be destroyed through amateur peeling attempts. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. Take a look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description. Front cover is beautifully presented due to an awesome peeling job by thebutchercover. The good news is that this colorful and respectable #6 Butcher Cover won't cost you 2k or more. As you can see from the photos, nothing from the peeling process (glue residue, minute pinpoint touch up, etc) detracts from the awesome presentation of this jacket. This is unusual from what is generally offered on these specific jackets. Check out the photos and judge for yourself. Please see photos to verify specific condition and feel free to contact with questions. Top seam is decent and complete (see top seam photo). The bottom seams appear to have a neat repair to a slight crack a few inches near the end of the seam near the mouth opening. This is very common on these jackets. To protect the seams, a record should never be placed into this jacket. Spine is not too bad on this one and most of the writing is legible on the top half of the spine. The bottom half of the spine shows some light cracking and some rubbing off of the printing on the bottom half. The back of the jacket shows general light wear/light foxing with some light stains and an abrasion at top left to the right of the Capitol logo (see photo of back of jacket).
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing and matching 1966 Orange West Coast Inner Sleeve. Record is in visual VG condition with some light sleeve scuffs and scratches.
Plays through without skips or loud pops, etc. Not a totally quiet pressing but still an enjoyable play even though it has been obviously well loved by the original owner. Labels are nice and look EX.
(see record and label photos). This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
T-Shirt Seen in Background on first few photos is NOT INCLUDED. This item is in the category "Music\Vinyl Records". The seller is "vintagevinylmuseum" and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
